Health And Asthma Information
Sensitive Choice is a new programme offered by the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation of New Zealand. The programme helps you identify companies that are committed to reducing asthma and allergy triggers.

Happy Home receives many enquiries from people wanting to know how to reduce the factors that cause asthma, so we ran and completed tests on Bonaire Ducted Warm-Air Central Heating system.

Click here to view our listing on the Sensitive Choice website.

Our system is the only central heating system that meets Sensitive Choice approvals (look out for the blue butterfly on our adverts and brochures).

With over 12% of the population suffering from asthma and 40% of the population from allergy, the Sensitive Choice program will help New Zealanders make better lifestyle choices that may help them manage asthma and allergies more effectively.

Tips to further keep homes warm and dry include:

Use well fitting curtains to keep in heat at night (pelments are even better).

Draught proof windows and doors.

Insulate your ceiling.

Dry your clothes outside (or in a garage).

Vent a clothes dryer to the outside (or use in a garage).

Use extractor fans or open windows to remove moisture from the kitchen and bathroom.

Air your house on fine days.

Put lids on pots when cooking.
